As a grassroots community organization, we strive to be
member-owned and member-sustained.
Why invest in grassroots community organizing?
We’re used to one way of thinking about donating directly to a cause: but it’s upside down.
Philanthropy is great because people of means can give to direct services that make a difference.
But organizing and training large numbers of people to effectively leverage their power bypasses the greatest weakness of philanthropy: its concentration on the interests of the few. People know what their community needs, and united, they have the power to accomplish it!
An investment into the Good Faith Network is an investment into the people of Johnson County for long-term, permanent change.

Your investment funds:
-
campaign victories like the ones listed above
-
salaries for three full-time professional community organizers
-
national and regional training opportunities for the clergy and lay leaders in our member congregations, which builds a lasting capacity for community leadership
-
hosting large events, like the Nehemiah Action
We Seek 4 Sources of Funding:
Individual Investments
Every Network Member is invited to invest annually, but it is not a requirement to be a part of the network.
Congregational
Dues
Member congregations contribute a set amount each year, based on the size of the congregation.
Corporate Investments
Support from local businesses and corporations are sought out because our work is beneficial to the business community.
Grants &
Foundations
Major grants from the Great Plains Conference of the United Methodist Church and the Kansas Health Foundation provided startup funds..

As a rule of thumb, we aim to maintain a level of financial transparency similar to those of our member congregations. Every member congregation has representation on our Board of Directors.
If you have additional questions, please reach out to staff and
we will gladly meet with you to discuss!
